The Acting Prime Minister, Attorney General and Minister for Industry and Trade Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum last night officially opened the fully automated state of the art plant for producing Tarumba juice rebranded as Tampico.
Highlighting the link between investment and technology in a country as small as Fiji, the Acting Prime Minister said that government will continue to promote and support foreign and local investment in the country.
“The reality is that there is enormous potential for competition in Fiji which not only create more investment but also leads to introduction of new technology into the market”, Minister Sayed-Khaiyum said.
“I would also urge all Fijians, local entrepreneurs to understand that the Bainimarama Government places a lot of confidence in you and looks forward to you investing in Fiji’s economy,” he said.
At the launch, Tappoo’s chief executive office Madhu Tappoo emphasised the group’s commitment towards providing quality services and products to customers.
“I must allude once again to our family members’ trait of always wanting to take up the challenge of acquiring a business that would add value and mould that into a vibrant and well run entity,”Tappoo said.
He said the Group has never been afraid of entering into competition.
“We are never afraid of completion when we entered into juice drink products, it’s the health and investment side that we need to get right,” he said.
