The Fijian Contingent to the 2022 Commonwealth Games presented their iTatau to His Excellency, the President, Ratu Wiliame Katonivere at State House yesterday (6/07/22).

Wishing them the best, His Excellency said the athletes are the ‘Titans’ of our nation.

“When you leave the gate of State House today, do go out with the passion of a person who dreamed of representing our country at this level,” he said.

“Go and live your dream. My prayers are with you, the Vanua's prayers are with you, the support of the whole Government is with you, so go and do your best and I wish you well."

A total of 72 nations will participate in this year’s Commonwealth which will be held at Birmingham in the United Kingdom.

5,054 athletes are expected to participate in 280 events in 20 sports.

The games will officially begin on the 28th of this month and conclude on the 8th of August.
