The Ministry of Education, Heritage and Arts today launched an online survey form to assist students requiring transport assistance through the Government Subsidised Blue e-Transport Cards.
Heads of School are required to download the Transport Assistance Form from the Ministry website and provide it to students seeking transport assistance. All collated information should be then uploaded on FEMIS.
Students who require transport assistance can collect application forms from their teachers and/or Heads of Schools and provide all necessary supporting documents.
Documents required include copies of tax identification numbers (TIN) for both parents and guardians, salary slips and/or employment contracts of parents or guardians.
Also required are statutory declarations for applicants whose parents/guardians do not have documentations on sustainable income and other documents such as evidence of social welfare payments.
Parents who may have recently lost their employment or have reduced hours of work due to the economic impact of COVID-19 can provide documentary evidence to support the applications.
Minister for Education, Heritage and Arts Hon. Rosy Akbar said, "We will assist children who require transportation support provided they furnish us with the required information. I request parents to be supportive and ensure that all lost or damaged cards are reported to avoid any travel inconvenience.”
Time restrictions on the cards are still in place and can only be used between 6.30 am to 9.00 am and 2.30 pm to 5.30 pm from Monday to Friday.
Minister Akbar also reminds children traveling in public transport to use clean face coverings and ensure hygiene is practiced at all times.
Minister Akbar wishes students who will return to school next week well in their journey and reminds parents to continue encouraging safe hygiene practices.
