TOP SYMPHONY DONATES, UPDATES

15/05/2012

The developers of Waila City, Top Symphony, today donated $10,000 towards the Prime Minister’s Flood Relief Fund.

Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama received the cheque handed over by the company’s Director, Mr Micheal Wong.

The Prime Minister thanked the company and said that the assistance will go towards helping those who have been affected by the two floods in Fiji.

The company recently signed the Master Agreement with the Housing Authority for the development of the Waila City project, a one of its kind project that will be on par with Government’s National Housing Policy.

Prime Minister Bainimarama, during a briefing at his Government Building office, was appraised on the various works involved in the development.

Housing Authority has sought Government assistance on certain aspects of the development, as Waila will see an entire city-type of project that will house amenities such as medical clinics and police posts. The Prime Minister emphasised on the need to keep abreast with the timelines.

Earlier, Housing Authority Board chairman, Mosese Tikoitoga said the housing project is the first of its kind in Fiji where the city will be properly designed, planned and developed in seven phases over ten years.

“Once completed, it will deliver 5000 Fijian families with an opportunity to own their very own home to live, work and grow. The vision is to create a new city in Waila that is attractive, livable and sustainable for living, working and recreation,” Mr Tikoitoga said.
