TWO NEW APPOINTMENTS TO THE FIJIAN JUDICIARY

His Excellency the President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau today welcomed two more members to the Fijian Judiciary.

Court of Appeal Judge, Chandana Prematilaka and Anthony Fernando were sworn in this morning at Government House before the head of state and senior members of the judiciary, including the President of the Court of Appeal, Hon. Justice William Calanchini and Chief Registrar, Yohan Liyanage.

Mr Chandana Prematilaka holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Sri Jayewardenepura in Sri Lanka and a Masters of Law and Advanced Certificate in International Trade Law and has also over 25 years of experience in legal practice.

Justice Anthony Fernando holds a Bachelor of Law from the University of Colombo and was admitted and enrolled as an Attorney at Law of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Sri Lanka.

He was appointed the Attorney General of the Republic of Seychelles from 1999 to 2008. Prior to his appointment, he was appointed Justice of the Court of Appeal of Seychelles.
