“The Hibiscus Festival is the Beating Heart of Our Nation” – Acting Prime Minister

Acting Prime Minister and Minister for Finance, Hon. Professor Biman Prasad, praised the 69th Hibiscus Festival as a celebration of Fiji’s culture, unity, and community spirit, describing it as “the beating heart of our nation.”
 
Speaking at the closing ceremony in Suva, Hon. Prasad congratulated the 2025 Miss Hibiscus Queen and the contestants for their grace, intelligence, and poise.
 
“To the ten contestants, you have embodied the festival’s spirit, and you have inspired us all,” he said.
 
The Acting Prime Minister acknowledged the major sponsor, Flour Mills of Fiji, along with Vodafone, Coca-Cola, Holiday Inn, Fiji Water, Fiji Airways, Fiji TV, Fiji Times, contestant sponsors, and other partners whose support made the festival possible.
 
He also commended the Suva City Council, the Hibiscus Committee, WWF Pacific, All Nations Youth, and the volunteers who worked tirelessly to ensure a successful event.
 
Hon. Prasad noted that this year’s festival lived up to its priorities of safety and cleanliness, with families enjoying the festivities in a secure and clean environment.
 
“The Hibiscus Festival is not just a carnival but a platform that empowers our women and youth, strengthens our communities, and reminds us of the power of coming together,” Hon. Prasad said.
 
He thanked the organisers, sponsors, contestants, and the people of Suva for making the 69th Hibiscus Festival a resounding success and looked forward to next year’s 70th celebration.
 
Meanwhile, Miss National Fire Authority, Rhyelle Aisea was crowned Miss Hibiscus 2025, Miss Leleuvia Resort, Tiare Colavoli was the second runner up, and Miss Unique Rubber Stamps, Temalesi Tuiwalese was the first runner up.
