Toys and furniture for 200 kindergarten schools

04/07/2010

200 kindergarten schools around the country will, from next week, be receiving toys and furniture, all thanks to FESP-AusAID’s assistance arm- Cardno Acil and the Pacific Regional Initiatives for the Delivery of basic Education (PRIDE) donation of $300,000.00.

Toys include animal truck sorters, educational blocks, finger puppets, ocean life and jungle animal packs, magnifying glasses, animal dominoes, magnetic fishing boats, assorted puzzles and play trays.

These play things will not be left lying around the classroom for they need to be stored properly for safekeeping. In that regard, this assistance also covers the provision of furniture.

For stand-alone schools, they will be given lockable cupboards whereas kindergartens, which are located within a school setting, dividing shelves, display racks and easels would be provided.

The Education Ministry is very grateful for this generous assistance and hopes that all recipient schools will make full use of these valuable resources.
