Two resident magistrates sworn in

Two resident magistrates were sworn in today at Government House before His Excellency the President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.
The two new resident magistrates are Peni Dalituicama and Samuela Qica.
Resident magistrate Peni Dalituicama
Resident magistrate Peni Dalituicama was previously employed at the Agricultural Tribunal and was also an associate barrister and solicitor with the Commissioner for Oaths Office.
Mr Dalituicama was also a senior legal officer with the iTaukei Land Trust Board in the Western Division and holds a Bachelor of Law Degree from the University of the South Pacific (USP).
Another Bachelor of Law graduate from USP, resident magistrate Samuela Qica currently holds the position of Principal Legal Officer with the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions in the Northern Division
He has previous experience with the Legal Aid Commission.
Also present at today’s ceremony was the Chief Justice, Anthony Gates.
