The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland have a new High Commissioner to Fiji.
High Commissioner, Dr Brian James Jones, yesterday presented his credentials to His Excellency, President Ratu Wiliame Maivalili Katonivere at the State House.
HC Jones has a colourful career in foreign diplomacy, which stretches back to 2004 when he was appointed Bosnia Desk Officer, Western Balkans Group in the UK's Foreign and Commonwealth Office in 2003.
In 2005, HC Jones was appointed Deputy Head of the Crisis Management Team, Consular Directorate under the Foreign and Commonwealth Office.
In 2019, he was posted to the Solomon Islands as British High Commissioner and Non-Resident British High Commissioner to Nauru, the post he held prior to his posting to Fiji.
