“I’m also happy that this achievement came during my tenure with the cooperation of the Japanese government,” he said.

The construction of the four-storey center began eight years ago.

“I would like to thank all who took part in the initial planning for this project since 2002. They played a big role in this achievement.”

Ms Nishimura said the government of Japan was honored to have played a role in the development.

She said the Japanese government is devoted to capacity building in other developing countries especially in the Pacific.

“The government of Japan is happy to be part of such initiative that would help bridge the gap between third world and developing countries,” she said.
