Unionist Urai charged

Police have today confirmed that Trade Unionist Daniel Urai has  been  charged and will appear  in the Suva Magistrates Court this morning.

Fiji Police Force's Chief Operations Officer and Assistant Commissioner Police Henry Brown said Mr Urai  has been charged under section 65, subsection  (1), subsection (b) of the Crimes Decree.

These charges are in relation to urging political violence and inciting communal antagonism against the Government of Fiji.

These charges also relate to any person urging others to overthrow by force or violence, the Government of Fiji or the lawful authority of the Government of Fiji.
