United Nations sends well wishes to Fiji

The Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has sent its warm wishes to the people of Fiji for celebrating 40-years of independence.

The organisation’s director general Mr Jacques Diouf addressed this to His Excellency the President, Ratu Epeli Nailatikau.

Mr Diouf wished the nation peace, harmony and assured its highest consideration to Fiji.

“On the occasion of your National Day, may I extend to your excellency in the name of the Food and Agriculture Organisation of the United Nations and on my own behalf best wishes for health and happiness. May the people of your country enjoy peace and prosperity. Highest consideration,” Mr Diouf said.
