VANUATU EDUCATION MINISTER PAYS COURTESY CALL

The Minister for Education National Heritage Culture and Arts, Mr Filipe Bole this morning received his Vanuatu counterpart, Minister for Education Honourable Bob Loughman.

In welcoming his Vanuatu counterpart, Minister Bole pointed out the need for both nations to work closely with each other to strengthen the education sector.

“As well as being partners in the region, Fiji is looking forward to work together to ensure our development efforts make a real difference throughout the Pacific, particularly in areas like education, “ said Minister Bole while, welcoming Hon Bob Loughman to the country.

The two ministers also discussed on the issue of teacher exchange scheme and Vanuatu’s need for secondary school teachers in Mathematics and Science, under the Fiji Volunteer Scheme. At present a group of eleven volunteers are awaiting agreement of the travel arrangements to serve in Vanuatu.

Hon Bob Loughman has been a member of the Vanuatu Parliament since 2004. Before this appointment, Hon Bob Loughman held the position of the chairman of the Standing Order Review Committee in parliament. Prior to that, he was the Director for the Department of Local Authorities.
