WAF operational update

16/11/2010

North
The high areas of Bulileka, Tuatua, Vunivau, Batinikama and Delailabasa in Labasa that usually experience low pressure and intermittent supply are now receiving water 24/7 following the connection of the new pipeline from Navau to the Benau Treatment Plant and Reservoir over the
weekend.

Water carting to these areas have stopped following the connection of the pipes.

West

Tavua:
Low levels are being experienced at the Masimasi Reservoir due to the blocked pumps caused by debris in the Nasivi River.

As a result of this, areas from Yasiyasi to Tagitagi and Nabuna to Rabulu will likely face low pressure and disruptions. Supply is expected to be restored
after debris is cleared when the flood waters recede.

Ba: A burst 250 mm water main occurred this morning causing disruptions to some areas in Ba. Workers are repairing the burst main with supply expected to be restored by 4pm today.

Emergency water carting in the West has been cancelled today because all areas from Sigatoka to Rakiraki received sufficient rainfall.
