WAIDAMUDAMU FARMERS IN VUNIMOLI LABASA BOOSTED WITH A TRACTOR

Eleven co-operative members from the Waidamudamu Farmers Cooperative situated in Vunimoli Settlement in Labasa received a boost from the Fiji Government after they received a tractor this afternoon (1/05/2023).

The Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Trade, Cooperatives, Small and Medium Enterprises and Communications, Hon. Manoa Kamikamica, commended the farmers in taking a great step to formalise their business structure as a co-operative business.

“The co-operative business structure brings people together to achieve goals with economic and social impact with self-independency at heart,” Minister Kamikamica said.

The total cost of the tractor with farm implements is $54,950; the contribution of the Waidamudamu Co-operative is one-third which is $18,316.67 while the Government grant is $36,633.33.
