WORK NORMAL FOR CIVIL SERVANTS

03/04/2012

The Public Service Commission confirmed that work for civil servants will continue as normal.

The Commission’s permanent secretary Mr Chand said that all arms of Government are collaborating fully with the National Disaster Management Office in providing the necessary reprieve and assistance to those affected by the floods.

He said if anything, there is a need for civil servants to go that extra mile during these times so that the public is provided with the necessary services.

Mr Chand also acknowledged the work of the officials and key government agencies who have worked tirelessly to ensure that immediate response is provided to people affected by the floods in the Western and Central Eastern Divisions.

“We are very grateful to those who have assisted and complemented the efforts of the Government in providing immediate and essential services to those in need in these trying times,” Mr Chand said.

With regards to power outages, he said this is only temporary and it should not in any way affect the work of the civil service.
