During a farewell ceremony on Friday (12/08/22), a total of 198 workers under the Pacific Australia Labour Mobility (PALM) Scheme praised the Fijian government for the employment opportunity to improve living standards.

Selected worker, Mr Apisalome Tuvou, while delivering the vote of thanks on behalf of the group, commended the foreign employment initiative of the National Employment Centre (NEC) under the Employment Ministry.

“We would like to thank the hard-working staff of the Ministry who have been working tirelessly for Fijians who needed to be part of the scheme in order to improve livelihoods.”

“To all of us farewelled today, please work towards your goal, fulfil the promises that you have made with your loved ones back home for a better life,” added Tuvou.

Minister Bala while farewelling the selected workers reminded them to remember the faces of their loved ones back home and the fruits they will reap from their good performance.

These selected workers are expected to leave for Australia next week.
