Water tanks for Savuna Village

The MV Iloilovatu  distributed water tanks to needy areas of the Lomaiviti group of islands last week.

The assistance included building materials for projects earmarked under the Prime Minister office in the area.

The first island visited  was to Moturiki where four 5,000 litres plastic water tank was offloaded on the island.

Two water tanks were given to Savuna Village and the other two for Wawa Village.

Provincial Administrator Lomaiviti Pateresio Nunu  said the two village were usually forgotten in the past and water tanks would boost the morale of the people. It shows that Government understands their water needs.

Niubasaga Village was also given two tonnes of cement, which will contribute to their seawall construction.

The MV Iloilovatu also off loaded building materials for a teachers quarters on Moturiki District School.

Mr Nunu said those who were left out will have their materials and water tanks on the next schedule of the MV Iloilovatu or any other Government ship to the province this year.
