We have the manpower - Baleilevuka

03/09/2010

The acting Police Commissioner, Mr Joeli Baleilevuka, says  the Fiji Police Force has the manpower to execute its duties.

“There is adequate human resources. I don’t intend to recruit more officers,” he said.

“I feel having about 3098 officers is sufficient for us.”

Mr Balilevuka with senior officers have suspended all pending activities.

“The Fiji Police Force, must be seen as a force dealing directly with the its core functions and each member of the force has been given the free choice to exercise his/her own religious belief ,” Mr Baleilevuka said.

“At the same time we have suspended transfers.”

He has started meeting all officers in the three divisions to set out new directions.

“This starts in the Southern Division then I’ll move over to the eastern region and move down to centres in the west and the North.”
