YELLOW RIBBON- "WALK OF ACCEPTANCE-FIRST FOR THE NORTH

Over 2000 participants from various parts of Vanua Levu came together for the Fiji Corrections Services' Yellow Ribbon "Walk of Acceptance" in Labasa today.
The 2.5km began with aerobics exercise, which was organised by officers of the Fiji Corrections Services.

The walk was led by His Excellency, President Ratu Wiliame Katonivere, and Madam First Lady Filomena Katonivere, which commenced from Subrail Park 1, passed through Labasa town's streets, and concluded at ground two at Subrail Park.

Joining the walk was the Acting Commissioner of the Fiji Corrections Services, Mrs Salote Panapasa, alongside her officers, families, and neighbouring communities.

In his closing remarks at the Yellow Ribbon Walk, President Katonivere emphasised the significance of fostering environment of acceptance within communities, stressing the importance of providing ex-offenders with care, love, and a sense of belonging.

Expressing gratitude, Acting Commissioner of Fiji Corrections, Mrs. Panapasa, extended thanks to all participants for their support towards the awareness program, aimed at offering ex-offenders a second chance.

This 2.5 km walk marked a milestone for Vanua Levu, drawing the highest number of participants as it was the first for the northern division.

The family-oriented event also featured refreshments, entertainment, a dog show, and various activities for the public to enjoy.
