The PIDF is a grand coalition of Pacific Governments, civil society organisations and business, all working together to enhance the cause of Pacific peoples everywhere.

I’m delighted to be here with you in the North to celebrate an important milestone in the history of this school – the opening of a new classroom block and computer laboratory.

It’s wonderful to see so many bright young faces before me this afternoon. There are now 162 students here compared to a roll of just 20 when this school was established in 1960.

Providing adequate health care for ordinary Fijians is one of my Government’s top priorities. In fact, we have an obligation to do so under the Constitution.

Your display of timing and precision has been exemplary and no doubt your parents and guardians, teachers, friends and schoolmates will be very impressed with your performance.

On Good Friday we remember this sacrifice most intensely as Christ’s ultimate act of love that he would die for our sins.

It is a truly historic day and an honour for me as Prime Minister to be with you all to launch the 75th anniversary celebration of this great town.

Today 250 students have graduated in a variety of fields. I again, sincerely congratulate you all. Most would have found appropriate employment in the private and the public sector.

Our gathering here over the next few days is critically important as our region is at a point where decisions need to be made with regards to our participation in the Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement with the European Union...
